Lisbon is Portugal’s hilly, coastal capital city. From imposing São Jorge Castle, the view encompasses the old city’s pastel-colored buildings, Tagus Estuary and Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge. Nearby, the National Azulejo Museum displays 5 centuries of decorative ceramic tiles. Just outside Lisbon is a string of Atlantic beaches, from Cascais to Estoril.

The flights from Dublin are with Ryanair, leaving on Saturday the 29th of August and leaving on Monday the 31st of August. As it’s only for two nights, I haven’t added priority with an extra cabin bag and this will cost extra. The hotel is the 4* HF Fénix Urban, which is rated 8.7 out of 10 with guests from Booking.com. This property is close to Parque Eduardo VII and a 15 minute walk to Avenida da Liberdade, which is one of Europe’s most expensive streets. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar on site. The rooms are air-conditioned with hardwood or parquet floors.
