Budapest, Hungary’s capital, is bisected by the River Danube. Its 19th-century Chain Bridge connects the hilly Buda district with flat Pest. There is plenty of things to see and do in Budapest including visiting the hot spring pools at Szechenyi Baths, a cruise on the River Danube, and incredible buildings like St. Stephen’s Basilica, Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church. Please note: there are no confirmed dates for the Budapest Christmas Markets just yet but historically it has started in the mid/late November. Budapest has been the winner of the Best Christmas Market in Europe award in 2019, 2021 and 2023.
