Trip Report: Marrakesh, Morocco
Marrakesh or Marrakech (both spellings are commonly used) is a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic centre and home to mosques, palaces and gardens. Night markets, camel rides and the Atlas Mountains are among the reasons to travel to Marrakesh. Marrakesh represents great value for money and the standard of accommodation is fantastic! I recommend staying in a riad, which is a traditional Moroccan house with an interior garden or courtyard.

The flights from Dublin are with Aer Lingus and are leaving on Tuesday the 16th of December and returning on Saturday the 20th of December. Aer Lingus have changed their cabin luggage policy on the lowest fares, you can choose to check in a 10kg bag free of charge or pay a fee to carry it on board. The flights from Belfast International are with EasyJet, leaving on Wednesday the 17th of December and returning on Sunday the 21st of December. The accommodation is with DAR Riad Jomana, which is a recently renovated riad rated 8.8 out of 10 with guests from Booking.com. This riad has a seasonal jacuzzi on the rooftop and sun terrace. This property is a 4 minute walk from Bahia Palace and just over a 15 minute walk to Djemaa El Fna Square. It has free Wi-Fi , concierge/tour desk. The rooms are air-conditioned with a private bathroom.
A double room at DAR Riad Jomana is available for €107 per person for a 4 night stay with breakfast. This brings the total cost from Dublin to €212 per person and the total cost from Belfast to €257 per person. Both options are based on 2 people sharing.
