Christmas markets are one of the most famous and beloved German holiday traditions and Berlin, the German Capital, is home to a wide variety of Christmas markets all over the city. 60 Christmas Markets take place in Berlin every year, with loads of variety. The flights from Dublin are with Ryanair, leaving on Saturday the 14th of December and leaving on Monday the 16th of December. As it’s only for two nights, I haven’t added priority with an extra cabin bag and this will cost extra. I’d recommend this bag from Decathlon for €8, which goes under your seat and fits loads in and is the exact dimensions for a Ryanair/EasyJet small cabin bag Decathlon Kipsta 20l bag. The hotel is the 4* Mercure Hotel Berlin City, which is rated 8.2 out of 10 with guests from Booking.com. This modern hotel is 100 metres from Friedrichstrasse, which is a famous shopping street in Berlin. Berlin Central Station is a 1 km away from the hotel. It is 100 metres to Naturkundemuseum Underground Station which connects to Checkpoint Charlie in 7 minutes. The hotel has a bar and restaurant on site. The rooms are modern in design with air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi.
A double room at Mercure Hotel Berlin City is available for €104 per person for a 2 night stay. This brings the total cost from Dublin to €236 per person based on 2 people sharing.
