Munich, Bavaria’s capital, is home to centuries-old buildings and numerous museums. The city is known for its annual Oktoberfest celebration, its beer halls, Old Town and central Marienplatz square, which is home to Munich’s Christmas Market. Munich has one of the oldest and most traditional Christmas markets in Germany.

Salzburg is an Austrian city on the border of Germany, with views of the Eastern Alps. The city is divided by the Salzach River, with medieval and baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old City) on its left bank, facing the 19th-century Neustadt (New City) on its right. It is also the birthplace of Mozart and is famed for its music. Salzburg is known to host one of Austria’s best Christmas Markets with close to 100 exhibitors with food, drink and hand crafted gifts. Salzburg is the birthplace of the most famous Christmas carol of all time “Silent Night, Holy Night”.

The train between Munich and Salzburg takes just over an hour and a half and leaves Munich number of times during the day. This train will leave you just south of Bratislava. The cost of the train is just under €24 per person on Trainline.com.

This property is a 5 minute walk from Salzburg’s main train station, which offers public transport connections to Residenzplatz, where the Christmas Market is due to be held, in less than 15 minutes. The Old Town of Salzburg is a 25 minute walk away. The hotel has a restaurant/bar and fitness centre on site. The rooms are air-conditioned and free Wi-Fi.
