Trip Report: Marrakesh, Morocco
Marrakesh or Marrakech (both spellings are commonly used) is a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic centre and home to mosques, palaces and gardens. Night markets, camel rides and the Atlas Mountains are among the reasons to travel to Marrakesh. Marrakesh represents great value for money and the standard of accommodation is fantastic! I recommend staying in a riad, which is a traditional Moroccan house with an interior garden or courtyard.

The flights from Belfast International are with Ryanair, leaving on Wednesday the 11th of December and returning on Sunday the 15th of December. The accommodation is with Riad des Etoiles, which is rated 9.1 out of 10 with guests from Booking.com. This property is located in the Medina and is a 15 – 20 minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna Square. Set within a traditional Moroccan house, each room is uniquely decorated and includes a private bathroom. Some rooms also have air conditioning.
A double or twin room at Riad des Etoiles is available for €68 per person for a 4 night stay. This brings the total cost from Dublin to €215 per person and the total cost from Belfast to €292 per person. Both options are based on 2 people sharing.
